SHK ESSEN Focuses on Topical Subjects and Trends in the Sector

50 Years as the Meeting Place for Practitioners and Decision Takers at Messe Essen

SHK ESSEN will celebrate an absolutely special anniversary in 2016: The trade fair for all aspects of sanitation, heating, air conditioning and renewable energies has been the information and presentation platform for the sector for half a century already. From March 9 to 12, 2016, around 580 exhibitors from 13 nations will show their innovations at Messe Essen. These will include products and services for everything to do with energy-efficient heating technology, innovative bathroom design for all generations, air conditioning and ventilation installations as well as a spectrum of solutions for safeguarding drinking water hygiene. The exhibition areas called Energy Management, Refrigeration Technology as well as Supply and Waste Disposal Technology will give their premieres.

Since 1966, SHK ESSEN has been a permanent date in the sector. At the national trade fair with the highest number of visitors, the manufacturers will present their ready-for-the-market innovations to the skilled tradesmen, the dealers, the specialised planners, the architects and the operators in eleven fair halls and the Galeria. All the market leaders will be involved once more.

Comfortable Sanitation Solutions for All Generations

In 2016, too, bathroom architecture appropriate for all generations will be one of the top subjects at SHK ESSEN. The solutions which the German sanitation industry will have available will be individual, safe and comfortable. In Halls 5 and 6 as well as in Halls 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12, the exhibitors will give an overview of trends, products and designs with regard to bathrooms, washrooms, WCs, fittings and equipment objects. Another important subject in the sanitation industry will be drinking water hygiene with products for all house sizes which counteract the infection of water with germs in the long run.

Manufacturers Will Score Points with Energy Efficiency

No matter whether highly efficient heating technology or the utilisation of renewable energies: With constant refinements in relation to condensing appliance technology, heat pumps, solar thermics and co., the manufacturers are contributing to the responsible handling of energy in the existing building stock and in new buildings, too. In Halls 1, 2 and 3 at SHK ESSEN, companies will show their innovations in the field of energy and building technology. The digital refinements are playing a great role in this respect: apps, controllers using a touchscreen and smart metering are ensuring individual and energy-saving building management with regard to heating, air conditioning, lighting and shading.

No matter whether in the case of existing office buildings or energy-efficient newly constructed houses: Controlled room ventilation permits a healthy climate, reduces harmful constituents in the air and also makes the lives of allergy sufferers easier. At SHK ESSEN, exhibitors will provide information about innovative solutions in this growing business field.

Three New Exhibition Areas Cover the Complete House Environment

On the occasion of its 50th anniversary, SHK ESSEN will be set up on an even wider basis with three new exhibition areas. For the first time, energy suppliers will introduce to the trade public their concepts for everything to do with energy supply, energy services and water supply. Another new feature will be the field of refrigeration technology in which suppliers of refrigeration and air conditioning installations will provide information about their service packages. Products for the municipal infrastructure will be shown in the third new area relating to supply and waste disposal management. Thus, SHK ESSEN will now cover the complete house environment from energy generation and access routes via the house and house technology even right up to waste disposal.

Informative Supporting Programme for Specialists and the Up-and-Coming Generation in the Sector

The trade visitors can once more look forward to an informative programme consisting of lectures, special shows and events. As the ideal sponsor of the fair, Fachverband SHK NRW ("North Rhine-Westphalia Trade Association for Sanitation, Heating and Air Conditioning") will once more make its booth in Hall 2 the meeting place for practitioners. One of the main focal points will be to win over the up-and-coming generation. The meeting place for trainees and schoolchildren at SHK ESSEN will be the TRAINEES Lounge - directly next to the trade association's booth.

In its special show, Bundesverband der Deutschen Heizungsindustrie ("Federal Industrial Association of Germany for House, Energy and Environmental Technology") will focus on modern heating technology.

Visitors from the neighbouring foreign countries will be particularly cordially invited to SHK ESSEN on the first day of the fair, the Netherlands and Belgium Day.
