– The use of Bodycams in Germany by police or other security
personnel such as the railway is steadily increasing. Bodycams serve
to document critical situations and also have a de-escalating effect
that can even deter potential attackers in dangerous situations.
The
photo specialist Braun Phototechnik GmbH presents its new Bodycam
BCX2 at the Photokina 2018, which is strictly oriented to the
everyday use and the needs of the police and security services –
namely the recording of video and audio signals.
Recording
with the BCX2 is activated by means of a well-accessible and
sufficiently large switch, also enabling easy handling with gloves.
The
Braun BCX2 is a of a very high quality and offers, in addition to
excellent image quality and night mode, also encryption of recorded
files, which is indispensable for data protection and further police
work. This assures that only authorized persons can access it. In
addition, the new Braun Bodycam BXC2 has face detection up to eight
meters and a motion sensor for capturing moving objects. The new BCX2
records full HD video with a resolution of 1920x1080p at 30 frames
per second (fps) or 1280x720 pix with 60 fps in MP4 format. The
maximum resolution for single photos is 21.0 MP in JPEG format. The
camera lens allows an enormous shooting angle of 170 °. The
integrated TFT colour display on the back has a size of 2.5" in
a 4:3 format, and allows the control of recordings if required. An
additional software function can also be used to encrypt the playback
of recordings. As a result, data protection is underlined yet again
by excluding filming by unauthorized persons.
An integrated high-power infrared
light enables the IR night vision, whereby the night mode is manually
switched on. The battery life is 4-5 hours, depending on the video
resolution set, thanks to the 2600mAh ion battery. The integrated
data storage with a rich 32GB is also large enough for up to 8 hours
of recording. Data is exchanged via USB 2.0.
The
specially developed housing concept is water- and dust-protected
according to IP54, and makes the Braun Bodycam BXC2 suitable for use
in almost situation. The very lightweight camera with only 100 grams
is supplied with a charger, power plug, USB cable and manual.
The
Bodycam BCX2 from Braun is now available for sale. The recommended
retail price is 229.00 Euro incl. VAT.
